The NZ$49 iPhone battery replacement program, an offer announced by Apple a few weeks ago is now available. In this guide, you can learn more about the program, which models are eligible, and how you can get your iPhone battery replaced by Apple.
The program is in response to Apple’s iOS operating system slowing down iPhone models as batteries age. Apple explained in an open letter as to why it does this. Getting a new battery will very likely increase the performance of your iPhone.
Battery Replacement Program
Apple is now offering out-of-warranty battery replacements on selected iPhone models for just NZ$49. Usually, it is priced at NZ$139 meaning the offer includes an NZ$90 discount. The offer is only available until December 31st, 2018.
The offer is available to selected iPhone models including:
- iPhone SE
- iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus
- iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus
- iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus
- iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus
- iPhone X
In warranty serving or those with Apple Care+ can have the battery replaced for free. All other iPhone models will cost NZ$139.
How To Get Battery Replacement
If you have an eligible iPhone you can get Apple to replace your battery. Simply head over to this support page on their website and click on the blue ‘Start a battery service request’ button.
You have the option to bring it in to an Apple Authorised Repair centre, or to send it in for repair which can take up to 5 business days.
